Maps Lead to Discovery and Adventure Thru iPod Touch

Discovering and visiting new places is a perfect vacation plan. To visit beautiful places you have never been before  is an exciting adventure. However as we plan to travel we have to do research  on the place of our destination. A very helpful tool to help our research are books, internet, magazines and of course a map.

A map is very helpful when we locate unknown places. It gives us the proper direction to where our destination is and how we can reach our destination.  It is our guide when we get lost. It has important information of the place where you want to go such as landmarks, no. of kilometers, signs and arrows. To better understand the map legends , color coding, labels and names of the places  are  in place.

A map is a visual representation of an area—a symbolic depiction highlighting relationships between elements of that space such as  objects, regions, and themes.

What are the different kinds of maps?

•    Aeronautical chart is a map designed to assist in navigation of aircraft. Using these charts and other tools  pilots are able to determine their position, safe altitude, best route to a destination, navigation aids along the way, alternative landing areas in case of an in-flight emergency, and other useful information such as radio frequencies and airspace boundaries.

•    A cartogram is a map in which some thematic mapping variable – such as travel time or Gross National Product – is substituted for land area or distance. The geometry or space of the map is distorted in order to convey the information of this alternate variable. There are two main types of cartograms: area and distance cartograms.

 •    A geologic map or geological map is a special-purpose map made to show geological features. Rock units or geologic strata are shown by color or symbols to indicate where they are exposed at the surface.  Bedding planes and structural features such as faults, folds, foliations,  and lineations are shown with strike and dip or trend and plunge symbols which give these features' three-dimensional orientations.

•    A compass rose, sometimes called a windrose, is a figure on a map, a nautical chart or a paving (as built in Dougga, Tunis, during Roman times)  used to display the orientation of the cardinal directions, -  north, south, east, and west. It is also the term for the graduated markings found on the traditional magnetic compass.

•    In architecture and building engineering, a floor plan, or floorplan, is a diagram, usually to scale, showing the relationships between rooms, spaces and other physical features at one level of a structure.

Tiger

"Born leader" is the key word for the Tigers. They are always in the lead and are most likely the ones to cry out "Let's Go"! Noble and Fearless, Tigers are respected for their courage, even from those working against them.

Tiger people are daring fighters, they are capable of standing up to the better end for what they think is right. Although they could be selfish from time to time in the little things, they are capable of great generosity. Tigers are unpredictable, always tense. and like to be in a hurry.

Tiger people are difficult to resist, for they are magnetic characters and their natural air of authority confers a certain prestige on them. They are tempestuous yet calm, warm-hearted yet fearsome, courageous in the face of danger yet yielding and soft in mysterious, unexpected places.
Tigers are very confident, perhaps too confident sometimes. Although they love adventures, and are addicted to excitement it is better not to challenge a Tiger's confidence. They likes being obeyed and not the other way around.

Because Tigers are urgent people and always in a hurry to get things done right, they usually choose to operate alone. Tigers like to work, they are hard-working and dynamic. If you assign a task to a Tiger, the job will be undertaken and accomplished with enthusiasm and efficiency. Tigers make money, but they are not directly interested in money. The eyes of an angel were shown to me everyday,chills ran down my arms not knowing what to say. Behind those beautiful eyes lies the most lovely soul so warm and so passionate that everyone knows.
